Absolutely terrible design. I'm stuck with this now because the electrician already installed it. At first I thought he installed it wrong. After reading the installation brochure, I called the company. In fact, one of their honest employees told me that the design leaves a lot to be desired. You bet. You can see the electrical work from above as all wiring has to be done from above. There is a gap of about 1 and 1/2 inches from the wall to the top of the block for airflow and ventilation. They recommend installing it no higher than 8 inches off the floor so you can easily see the wires going to the heater. Why they didn't design it to allow the wires to go through from below I don't understand. Or why they didn't design a lid that allows for ventilation but still covers the cables is also a big mystery.
