I bought this game because it's time for my grandkids to learn how to play checkers. I wanted a format that would be easy for everyone to watch as a game was played, because the kids (ages 4, 5, and 6) like to gather in and participate whenever one of them is involved.The game is a big hit. The pieces are sturdy and the rug (board) is well-made and looks like it will wear well. The size is great, too, because it's easy for everyone to see, even those not closely involved in the game. I will be buying another set to give to my brother so that he can teach his grandkids, too.
