You'll need better rivets, but the tool itself will work with some.

Purchased to put rivets on multiple straps to reduce long term damage from pressure from the teeth. The device works well and the rivets provided are suitable for thinner clothing straps and canvas. For thicker straps you will need higher quality rivets, but the tool itself will work with various types and brands of rivets available at most craft stores.
