I read the reviews before buying this player, so I was cautious about the purchase. Approaching the turntable I was surprised by the quality of this product. It was easy to put together and had features I've never had in a turntable at any price point; For example a reversible motor so the disc can be played backwards and a slider to change the speed. I bought a different cartridge than the one supplied. It was a Shure cartridge that cost the same as a turntable, but was more than worth the money. With the combination of pickup and turntable I get excellent tracking and a professional high-end response. My guess is that most of the other reviews had limited or no gaming experience. Having previously owned four other players released in the early 1970's, I found this player's setup and performance to be the best of any player I have owned. I. for the price! This is a must. I don't like the software that comes with it, but I have a Nero program that works well with this table to convert tracks to MP3 files. The player output is "hot" so I had to turn down the volume on the computer to avoid distortion. I recommend this player as the best value for money. I would recommend a separately purchased high quality cartridge but it increases the performance of this table.
