Disclaimer: I have not used Napster software. I installed it (unnecessarily) to use the firmware update client (which didn't work) and when I tried to uninstall it I got a blue screen. I had to delete it manually. However, here is a link to an updater that actually works: [.] And here are the instructions: [.] Since we started with the cons, let me list the cons: (1) No car kit included. Available for an additional $80, which negates the low price if you want a car kit that unfortunately includes a different remote control. (2) Recorded content is not available in digital format. If you want to copy it somewhere else, this is real-time analog recording mode (low bitrate). (3) You cannot set the baud rate for recording. (4) Bookmarks are not available without software. (5) Recorded content will disappear if not received within 8 hours per month. (6) Someone has to change the firmware to fix these copyright violations. :) And now the pros, in no particular order: (1) 10 minute recording buffer. For me it's worth updating this feature just for that. If you're not at the player when your all-time favorite tune starts playing, you can still record the entire song as long as you're within the 10-minute limit. I've stopped trying to record individual songs in MYFI. (2) Much better reception than MYFI. My house faces southeast with large windows and I can sit in the living room and receive without an external antenna. (3) Good battery life. I played back over 11 hours of recorded content. I don't know what it is when you play live. (4) Lock function that allows you to prevent the player from overwriting old content. (5) Playlists - create, edit and delete. (6) Much smaller and lighter than MYFI with dimmable color display. (7) Good volume.
