Not really "CD quality "

I've been listening to this for almost 3 months now and find the sound quality only acceptable. Even in the relatively open Southwest (e.g. no tall buildings or trees) where I live there is quite a bit of interference, more like AM or FM radio than satellite quality. To be honest I'm quite surprised as other satellite broadcasts I've used really outperform their over-the-air counterparts.

BUYER WARNING: Satellite Radio

I was so excited about this unit but found it was not of the quality I was expecting. Firstly, the FM transmitter only works in the car dock (not included). So if you plan to use it at home, make sure your stereo has audio jacks or an auxiliary jack. Second, the product was defective. My mp3 songs are sometimes repetitive and the headphone jack is broken causing the audio to cut out and sound bad unless you leave the cable in the unit. This happens with both MP3 and XM satellite radio, so I…

Good XM Radio: Car electronics

I mostly use the XM2go radio in a fixed location with the antenna facing south for good reception. My main goal is to record old music. I love that the radio can record a song while it's playing; The beginning of a song will not be recognized if the song is already playing when accessed. Converting recorded songs to play on a computer isn't an option, but playing a recorded song from a headset jack to a line-in jack will work, which needs to be recorded. Good quality. It may be necessary to…

Are we looking at the same product?

After reading the terrible reviews I decided to see for myself if it can be as bad as everyone says. First, a pioneering product must get a bad review. A charged battery lasts no longer than 1 hour. Stay away from the pioneer, he stinks. Now that the pioneer has been mothballed, this Samsung is just great! After charging the battery, I listened for more than 1 hour and the battery consumption never changed. In addition, the reception is crystal clear both in the charger with the antenna…

Very happy with the satellite radio

Helix surprised me. The Home kit fits perfectly in my car and uses the same power supply and antennas as my XM Sportcaster. The radio works great outdoors as long as you hold it. In this case, if you turn away from the south, it loses the signal. Antenna XM headphones will likely solve this problem. There are only two settings in memory. 100% XM or 50/50. You can't split 100% MP3. The radio is actually picking up a strong signal in my living room with no external antennas connected. Thus, the…

Very cool product

The battery problem mentioned in other reviews has been fixed with a new firmware update. If you buy this, be sure to update the firmware - a simple task that Samsung will walk you through. That's all I wanted. I want it to work without an external antenna in the buildings, but at some point it needs access to the satellite. To use it during my workouts, I just record a few hours of XM at home, then take it to the gym and play the recorded music (or whatever). To record XM, mount it in a mount…

Much better than MYFI

Disclaimer: I have not used Napster software. I installed it (unnecessarily) to use the firmware update client (which didn't work) and when I tried to uninstall it I got a blue screen. I had to delete it manually. However, here is a link to an updater that actually works: [.] And here are the instructions: [.] Since we started with the cons, let me list the cons: (1) No car kit included. Available for an additional $80, which negates the low price if you want a car kit that unfortunately…

General impressions

ok, I'll just do it.a. If you like listening to XM radio on the go, this is the wearable hearing aid.b. Buy a headset as it improves reception by 100%, the quality is good too. It works fine with a small antenna on it, but you need an unobstructed view of the sky. You should have a clear shot of the southern sky. If you're in an area where a lot of trees or buildings block the southern sky, you're going to have trouble. i.e. you can listen to xm radio in mexico or anywhere south of the usa. I…

Samsung vs Delphi good for car audio

Ok I bought this product 6 months after buying the Delphi SkiFi3. I want to compare two models: 1. Samsung Helix: Easy to use buttons, instant bookmarks, nice color screen with cute graphics illustrating each XM station. Delphi SkiFi3: Buttons freeze and often unresponsive, solid color screen also freezes often.2. Helix: Built-in antennas and headphones included. I go for long walks and am welcomed wonderfully. With additional antennas for the headset, I could easily listen in the library or at
