Review on MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 245/45 R18 100Y summer by Wiktor Wiater ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as promised by the manufacturer, high quality.

The tire very recently became available for purchase (2022 model), and I was one of the first customers to purchase it. Operation - a week on the forces of a Volkswagen Passat 170, in the amount of 235/45R17. All that we provide for sale is the XL version, which has reinforced, denser, and thicker sidewalls. It also has an index (Y) that can reach speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour, and it has ZR instead of merely R, which indicates that the tire is designed for high-speed use. The tire has a wear index of 420, which is excellent (there is optimism that it will survive for four seasons). When compared to the ContiPremiumContact 5, the Michelin features sidewalls that are noticeably more rigid, which translates to a greater resistance against hernias (the sidewalls of the Conti are like rags; they are very soft). In terms of the amount of noise, the Michelin is a little bit less disruptive. To this yet, I have not noticed a significant improvement in taxiing, but Michelin does appear to have a more distinct reaction to the steering wheel. While it was forced into a rut on the Conti, the rut is barely noticeable on the Michelin. When driving to a speed of 150 kilometers per hour, there are no hums or screams, only a gentle rustling sound. Michelin is also more intriguing than Conti in terms of the speed index (and, consequently, reliability at high speeds). Same pricing. I am writing because I recently made a decision between the Michelin PS4 and the ContiPremiumContact 5 (or rather, the ContiSportContact, which is practically exactly the same thing), but in terms of the combination of qualities, I decided to go with Michelin. Everything that I've seen so far has piqued my interest. When purchasing a set of summer tires, be sure to keep an eye out for customers who can get free tire fitting at select authorised Michelin points through May 31.

Pros
  • A tire that holds a lot of intrigue. Excellent handling, very quiet. There is no sensation of the track. Outstanding control during braking and acceleration, with little slippage. Due to the fact that they just emerged from the building, we have not yet been able to ride in the rain. A review will be added at a later time.
