Review on Sizzix Thinlits Die: Metal Cutting Tool for Precise and Intricate Designs by Amy Mcleod

Good if you need confetti

I like Tim Holtz products but I found Sizzix (or Allison) products disappointing. When I use my die cuts I take scrap paper or shred the paper to make it smaller and then use a close up to get a usable, nicely cut out piece. I expected the same. I wanted openwork outlines. I wanted paper wire mesh but ended up with a different shape of confetti. I can tediously cut around the edges, but the purpose of die cutting is so I don't have to. I wanted the back of the diamond pattern, the lines between the diamonds (like in the photo). I would still have confetti, but I would also have the pieces I wanted. In the last image I used a square border matrix and a diamond matrix; It looks ok, although it kept slipping after I straightened it. I don't understand why there is no additional limit for them. They have other stamps. Punches, dies, accessories and consumables are investments, expensive investments, so Sizzix and Tim Holtz could and should have done better. JMO
