They are made of very hard plastic that has not cracked or damaged in almost four years of using these sets. There are a few scratches and scuffs, but these do not affect the function of the case. I like you very much. The plastic for this version isn't of the same quality as the ones we use in professional kitchens, but it's still perfect for everyday use at home and will hold up well with proper use. Tip for all hobby home cooks: Be sure to label each container with a specific type of use, e.g. B.
