2008 BMW X3 N52. This is definitely one of the most superficial engine repairs I've ever done. I noticed I had terrible suction in my crankcase and the breather valve was either clogged or no good. I used a dremel to cut the valve into sections and then ripped off the pieces with pliers. After the lid was completely cut off, I cut off the sides of the valve with a dremel and turned the edges with a flat head and a hammer. I cleaned everything and applied sealant to the replacement site. The replacement part appears to be even thicker than the original, which is promising. MAKE SURE YOU STRUCTURE IT CORRECTLY. If it is misaligned, you will need to replace the entire cap. It took about 3 hours and saved me about $800. 100% would recommend this if you want to be comfortable and save money
