This is a 110V LED signal light so you need to connect it to an extension cord or other power supply via Your 110V outlet. It doesn't generate heat and I use it with a timer so it turns on and off at night and the lights flash as an anti-theft device. It may be able to be used with existing security systems but I only bought it as a standalone signal light.
