Good homebrew water seal and stocking filler

Let's see if I liked that a little more. I honestly do not know. It's easier to work with because you don't have to assemble three separate parts. You simply fill it up to the "max" mark with vodka or disinfectant, put the lid on and place it in the fermentation vessel. It's a bit simpler than the three-piece models, but it's like saying one doorknob turns easier than another. I used this on a new yeast starter and it worked fine until the yeast in it started going a little crazy. Then the lock got dirty. I found this model more difficult to clean than the 3 piece model when it cracks as you cannot take it apart. All you can really do is run hot water and soap through it until it "looks" clean and sanitary. Three-component models are best disassembled and cleaned. They're good spares for home brewers because extras allow you to throw one away if it breaks or gets too dirty, just how you like it. and they are inexpensive.

Pros
  • Suitable for lined bucket lids, perforated rubber stoppers or plugs
Cons
  • No.
