Review on πŸ”Œ HUACAM HGA66 VGA Extender Over Ethernet Adapter | VGA Male to Cat5/Cat6/RJ45 Female Network Cable Connector (2 packs) by Richard Lamptey

Works but tube colors bleed and halos in image

Pros: It's cheap, you get a pair and it works. Cons: It also leaves a slight red cast and outline all over the place as the red is shifted a bit from RGB. General Thoughts: I needed to run VGA from my network closet in another room to my studio where the monitors are. Rather than trying to run an extra long VGA cable, I figured an $8 adapter and existing Cat 6 cable in the same range would suffice. With a security camera monitor I'm not going to get mad and return it and try to find a super long VGA adapter or better, but for others: be warned, if you're looking for crystal clear quality this isn't it. It's also worth noting that I looked at the VGA pinouts before purchasing and made one myself that worked better than this one. I only bought them because I felt it wasn't worth spending time soldering and hacking connectors on a perfectly good VGA cable to make another one. The one I made looked horrible as I had to remove most of the plastic and because the pins were close together the insulation on the wire and solder points made it look very ugly. After testing the concept and making sure the cable worked, I decided to throw it away and just buy the real thing. I should have just stayed Frankenstein.
