We started brewing kombucha as a hobby and wanted to find out how much alcohol it contained. We understand it's usually less than half a percent, about the same as a ripe fruit, but we wanted to be able to test this. Unfortunately, after ordering this kit and doing some research, it appears that counting alcohol in kombucha is not as straightforward as in other fermented beverages, as kombucha is a more complex chemical conversion than the standard sugar to ethanol found in beer and bugs. This kit seems like a really good kit, the only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that it can accurately measure the alcohol content of kombucha.
