I'm a single mom living in an apartment with limited kitchen space. This coffee maker is perfect for that. It takes up a lot less space than my previous two coffee makers. The coffee is brewed at a medium speed and the resulting temperature is excellent. A hot stove will keep you warm. I didn't use the brew stop feature to pour the cup mid-brew, so I can't comment on that. It is here. Seems to be a solid construction. The power button is on the side, large, and glows when plugged in and turned on. Basic things for now. check check check. Color me happy and caffeinated. That's why I don't give it 5 stars. Keep in mind that none of these are deal breaker and I'm just adding them to remind you. (1) Although I did not purchase it refurbished, it was not boxed by Krups and had no instructions. This wasn't a major issue as the intelligence to use the coffee maker is minimal and somewhat intuitive. I guess I have a brand new coffee maker that has never been used, but who knows? (2) The coffee filters needed for this have to be cone shaped (I think the ones I found at the grocery store were #2 and for 1-4 cup coffee makers) which I didn't realize and didn't buy ahead of time. . It comes with a reusable filter that works great BUT is difficult to clean. During the weekdays I prefer coffee filters for easier cleaning. It also annoyed me a bit that I had no idea I needed a new type of paper filter and since there were no instructions I couldn't even find one without going all the way online or guessing. To be honest I knew what I needed because Google seemed to be working. (3) Finally, when I measure and pour the water in the garage, the size of the carafe becomes the obstacle to the lid of the water tank. This, along with the volume of the top of the tank, makes it difficult to pour all of the water from the carafe into the tank. I end up using a tall thin cup to pour water OR I overfill the carafe and then follow the line markings on the outside of the tank. That's the most annoying part because when I'm barely awake I'm more likely to screw things up and either put too much water in the tank or spill it all over the place. Due to the compactness of the coffee machine, there is practically no room for error. However, I've gotten used to it. It has neither programmable settings nor an automatic shut-off function. He won't tell you the time. Doesn't grind beans. It will not make your coffee taste magical. If you buy crappy ground coffee, you get crappy brewed coffee. It's a machine, not wish-granting fairies. So after all that, I like her. It doesn't take up much space. I pour coffee. he is brewing i drink hot coffee I'm happy. He is consistent in his conclusion. I adapted to his quirks. I predict it will last longer than my last relationship.
