This is a handy little tape measure. I liked it so much that I bought 2 more after the first one. After putting one side by side in my fridge/freezer, I got extras for a chest freezer and a small dorm fridge on different floors of the house. No more climbing stairs to get a tape measure. It seems that wherever such things are, I need them on another level of the house. I had no problems with the magnet as other reviewers have noted. However, I would say mine are in low traffic areas rather than high traffic units/doorways. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons: 1. It's not exactly a "fixing" tape measure. You can hold down the button to lock it, but you must hold it down or it will jump. I don't consider it a "latch". It's amazing how often the blocking feature comes in handy when you don't have it. I think the description is a bit misleading in this regard.2. It does not contain metric markings. I understand it's small, but they could make it metric on one side and inches on the other. I knew that when I bought it, but I wanted to do without it because of other features. Overall, this is an attractive and handy tape measure for small tasks around the house.
