Stops working after a few days

I received the remote control with a dead battery. I replaced the battery and programmed the remote to work with my 2006 Toyota 4Runner. It worked fine for about 24 hours during which I clicked it maybe 6-10 times. After that he died again. Again, assuming I had a bad battery, I replaced it with a new one from the store. The remote worked for about a day and died again. I bought a third battery and this time the remote worked for twelve hours and then died completely. Needless to say I am returning it.
