Review on Potholders Trivets Holders Coasters Diameter by Noe Epps

caused a fire in the stove

Although these coasters look very cute, the threads melted after the first use after a hot pot was placed on them, and the coaster stuck firmly to the bottom pot. In fact, every time we put a hot object on one of them, it stuck to the bottom of the pot. I've been cooking dinner when I needed to fry something in an ovenproof pan, take it out and then put it in the oven. After roasting, I placed the pan on one of these racks to prepare to put the pan in the oven. The grate sticks to the bottom of the pan without my knowledge, I put the pan in the oven and before I know it the grate is burning in our oven! It smelled awful and ruined our dinner. Another trivet stuck to the bottom of the pan which we put back on the stove and started to burn under the pan on the stove - smelled horrible too and ruined the trivet and our glass oven. Needless to say we have now switched to wooden coasters and have had no problems. If you are cooking complex dishes that require you to move quickly and have a lot of steps I would NOT recommend these trivets as you will be constantly removing them from your pots and pans. Because they're so thin, it's hard to tell if a pot or pan is sitting on them. Stick to a more durable material that will stand up to the heat and not pose a fire hazard in your kitchen!

Cons
  • Expensive
