DSLR ergonomics, cinema camera Image

There aren't many reviews of the GH5s. Before I bought this camera I had a Panasonic G7, but I've also used a few cinema cameras so I'll try to compare them to them as well. ADVANTAGES: - Excellent dynamic range (12 or 12.5 very useful stops in V-Log), especially in the shadows. Just remember not to underexpose. Incredible video resolution and clarity, especially in 4k. Despite the small and compressed file size, it's amazing how much you can improve color in post. The file sizes are about 9x smaller than the Blackmagic Prores files I edited. - Great 4K slow motion in Natural profile. If you want to record in V-Log I would use 10-bit 1080p 60fps. Some color issues in 8-bit 4k with skin tone correction in V-log and 1080p are still sharp. A lot of things make it look like an inexpensive film camera. You can get zebras, waveforms, V-log shots, etc. Plenty of room for consistency and I think the picture quality is some of the best I've seen. - User friendliness. DSLR ergonomics, long battery life (especially with the battery grip), weather protection, etc. I can take this camera anywhere and it's very durable and reliable. Image quality looks excellent at ISO 6400 and very good at ISO 12800. CONS: Variable frame rates above 60 fps are really not suitable for most situations. Lots of horizontal noise/banding unless shooting in Natural profile at 200 ISO or less. Moirรฉ and aliasing are very poor above 96 frames per second. It's fun to have slow motion, but not the most professional footage. - A little too big for my Zhiyun Crane v2 gimbal. No wobble, just hard to switch to inverted mode without closing and reopening the touchscreen. Convenient to take anywhere, but compared to a range of film cameras, you'll miss variable ND filters and built-in XLR audio connectors. Photos are not as clear due to the 10MP sensor. Nothing surprising.

Pros
