The product did not disappoint, the quality pleases.

I migrated to it from an old Olympus Pen e-p5, but this is probably a mistake and I should have immediately changed the system to Sony for video or Canon for photos. In general, think 10 times before buying it Got pros: The picture quality is great, the screen is good bright, customizable buttons, good stabilization, 10 bit V-Log for geeks, two SD cards, you can write to 2 at once, microphone jack Cons: Large size and weight for an MFT, a small selection of normal lenses, and these normal…

It's a mirrorless winner

Okay, I wanted to give this camera a couple of weeks before reviewing it. I love it. I'm transitioning from Canon cine cameras (I still own a couple) and wanted something in a smaller form factor. It can be cumbersome to lug around the C100 gear (nice pics but cumbersome) so I gave the GH5S a try. I'm not a big fan of the color science of the original GH5. Skin tones look very orange (in my opinion), but the GH5S looks more natural. After adding the MB .71 adapter and Canon 24-105 (which…

Great photos, even better video

I'll start by saying I'm almost a beginner. The GH5S is my first non-iPhone camera, but the difference between day and night was huge. Especially if you're viewing the video file on something with a good display (iPhone, external monitor, PC, etc.). 4K/60FPS video on iPhone 11 Pro is nothing compared to what it can do. Nothing. The iPhone looks like a grainy webcam from 2005 compared to this thing. Especially in low light conditions. Come to think of it, just a few months ago I thought…

Another tool in my arsenal

Just to add some background I currently have the GH4 and GH5 and use them to shoot a variety of things - I mainly shoot weddings and these little cameras excel at that. Before buying it, I already knew about the lack of IBIS, so this did not become an obstacle for me like others, and I still have Gh5. However, the Gh5s are a great addition to my Panasonic fleet! Anyone who owns an MFT camera knows and has to contend that low-light photography is nearly impossible—unless you bring LED lighting…

Outstanding clarity in low light and shadows. Excellent Color Science

This is a great camera for my style of work. I typically shoot low-light, high-contrast subjects, and in these conditions it excels. Last cameras I had: gh4, 2 a7s2, a7r2, a6500, a6300. in the shadows. Much more shadow detail and almost no pixelation. Panasonic 4k 60fps 8bit footage is far superior to Sony A7s2 4k 30fps 10bit shot externally with Atomos Ninja Flames. In fact, most Panasonic projects don't even require 10-bit recording because color science is at its best and 8-bit footage is…

DSLR ergonomics, cinema camera Image

There aren't many reviews of the GH5s. Before I bought this camera I had a Panasonic G7, but I've also used a few cinema cameras so I'll try to compare them to them as well. ADVANTAGES: - Excellent dynamic range (12 or 12.5 very useful stops in V-Log), especially in the shadows. Just remember not to underexpose. Incredible video resolution and clarity, especially in 4k. Despite the small and compressed file size, it's amazing how much you can improve color in post. The file sizes are about 9x…
