I'll start by saying I'm almost a beginner. The GH5S is my first non-iPhone camera, but the difference between day and night was huge. Especially if you're viewing the video file on something with a good display (iPhone, external monitor, PC, etc.). 4K/60FPS video on iPhone 11 Pro is nothing compared to what it can do. Nothing. The iPhone looks like a grainy webcam from 2005 compared to this thing. Especially in low light conditions. Come to think of it, just a few months ago I thought smartphones were a real threat to 'traditional' cameras like these. I found the software very intuitive to use and the camera very reliable and well built. Should be 2k. Auto focus settings, sync scan, white balance, ISO, etc. are very easy to use. The menu is filled with a lot of great options so I can customize everything. I particularly like the synchro scan function, which allows me to fine-tune the shutter speed on (multiple) frequencies of a CRT monitor, TV, light, etc. and completely erase flicker and lines. I recommend beginners start by setting everything to full manual mode and learning how to change aperture, shutter speed, ISO, focus and white balance. It's actually even harder to learn when these things are out of your control. Although I doubt many beginners will make this their first camera.
