so I bought this as a used item as I didn't want to turn down a 4TB for $65 and figured reliability wasn't really an issue for my use as this is a game drive would . . Unfortunately, it started to rebel within the first hours of use. it shuts down randomly and, worst of all, the drive freezes. It is registered as 100% used and this prevents any reads and writes that halt the download or actually freeze the game because it can no longer load the assets. a computer with a normal sata connection because i thought that the problems were caused by the sata usb adapter. It turned out that the drive itself (not the connector) was causing the freezing issues. However, it's been about two months now and it seems to have only lasted a week or two and everything seems to be working fine now. but between disconnects and disk freezes I can definitely figure out why it was the returned item
