Great addition to my kitchen

I was a bit hesitant to buy this kettle due to the many reviews of rust, fire etc. Beautiful, functional and rust free, just like the day I bought it. However, a piece this beautiful and delicate requires some maintenance if you want to keep it beautiful, functional and rust-free. This is not a kettle that can simply be thrown into a gas flame and left filled with water for 2 weeks between uses. I believe that with a little care and attention the product will last a very long time and be usable. If you are using a gas burner, heat it over medium-high heat first. Do not turn on the burner so that the flame engulfs the bottom of the kettle. This is how you burn for a beautiful design. Yes, the water will heat up a little longer, but it will keep the integrity of the kettle. I would say for best results turn the burner on full throttle WITHOUT any flames enveloping the sides of the kettle. Secondly, do not leave water in the kettle between uses. After use, drain the water and remove the lid. Wipe off excess water from the lid with a paper towel and place the kettle (without the lid) back on the hob you just used to heat water for tea. Make sure the burner is off and the kettle is open. The residual heat from the burner must be sufficient to vaporize the water remaining in the kettle after draining. Once the excess water has evaporated, you can put the dried kettle lid back on the kettle and store it on the stovetop or other place without worrying about rusting. That's all. super easy. If you want this beautiful teapot to last and stay great, there are a few things you need to keep in mind.
