Not suitable for children at all in my opinion. We got these for my 8 year old but I use them instead and he gets at Mr. Sketch and Crayola. We prefer flavored spinning knives for this because they're fun, don't require sharpening, and work well. The formula of these crayons leaves a residue unlike traditional crayons which are messy and absolutely a hassle to clean. Also, you must only press them lightly, otherwise they will break and deteriorate. Another reason not good for my child. But they are beautifully colored, which is a plus. And they are smooth to the touch and feel better than traditional crayons when coloring.
