Review on Loma Curvy Cream 8 fl oz - Enhancing Curves with Style by Amy Smotherman

Great for fresh, bouncy curls

I was very disappointed when my tried and true curl cream was discontinued. I had a really hard time finding something that worked well and didn't smell super strong. I decided to give this a try and it took a bit of trial and error, but it's pretty good with a few tweaks. 1) Best on damp, freshly washed hair. Do not overdry your hair and leave it fairly damp. I have layered chin to shoulder length hair and use just over a quarter size. Gently run a fine-toothed comb through the hair, then gather the curls again and run flat "praying hands" through the strands. I air dry the roots or sometimes partially spray them, then air dry and they hold up well without being crispy. 2) It's really sticky and doesn't work on its own on days you don't wash your hair. On the days between washes I let my hair steam in the shower, then take a pea sized amount of this + a pea sized amount of another, thicker, more holding gel + some water and use it to touch up frizzy areas. By itself it is too sticky on dry hair and becomes crunchy. Pros: Ideal for wet hair. Faint pleasant smell. Pretty clean ingredients. Cons: Too sticky to touch up dry hair.
