I used them to control the lights and fan on the ceiling fan separately. I found the switches very easy to understand and hook up. The wires have been individually marked to make it easier to keep them straight. Time will tell of course, but the switches appear to be of decent build quality and should last a long time. The only downside was that the screw holes for attaching the switch to the box weren't standard. There is a small tube that, if left in place, keeps the switch out of the box and prevents it from sitting flush. I have installed many switches and sockets in the past but have never seen such a configuration. However, I found this easy to fix by cutting them off with a hacksaw. The switches now sit flush in the box and look great. I believe my house has standard single block plastic wall outlets. If these switches were made for a specific type of box, this should be stated in the description. Still a good product and a lot cheaper than others on the market.
