This shoe could be a good water shoe. It has handy holes at the bottom to allow water to drain through, while a velcro strap at the top ensures a snug fit if the shoe is a bit big. The problem is that these shoes are European sizing which always runs small in my opinion. The opening in these shoes was also particularly narrow and it was difficult to put them on my son's foot when dry. I can't imagine climbing on him if his foot was wet from swimming. The next size up might have been easier to put on, but I was afraid it would just be too big and his foot would slip.
