As another reviewer said, the instructions don't say to snap the black pieces onto the vertical fins. They do. Finally after you press them hard enough. I'm not going to lie, it can hurt your hands pressing them onto the bar if you have small or sore hands, but I used a washcloth for extra padding when pressing them in place. It's really just a matter of installing the bars and snapping the three fabric shelves onto the two vertical bars. Then unfold the two drawers and insert the bottom of the drawers. It was installed very quickly. My unit wobbled a bit initially, but that was because I didn't rotate all the hooks equally, one of them was kind of slanted up on the vertical stand. After I fixed it, everything was fine. I keep mine in my back room to store my bag and bag when I get out of the garage and also use the shelves for extra shoe storage. Unfortunately, my cat loves it and continues to sit on the middle shelf with his fat back. It's quite heavy and I'm amazed this thing has withstood its abuse of jumping on and off it. It needs to be handled with care, although around children and pets it wasn't designed to carry that much weight or be subjected to rough handling. It was the perfect size for my space and I will end up buying another one for my closet once I find room for it. :)
