I rarely give one star reviews I normally give two stars but in the case of a product that may actually pose a safety hazard I find it necessary. However, if you look at the fine print, there may be wording to suggest looking for compatibility in terms of voltage etc, but it's not advertised enough for the consumer to make an informed choice. In short, they overheat when your RV is plugged into shore power. This is because battery power is limited to 12V, which is what they are designed for. When connected to shore power the voltage can rise significantly and this is more than what these lamps might be rated for. I started noticing the flickering mentioned in other reviews and I started seeing smoke, I thought it was steam or moisture because it was really hot and humid that day. I've used these bulbs before and had no problems, but that was because the temperature outside was cooler. It was very hot that day and must have been a turning point for the lightbulbs. Be sure to do your homework, they don't suit everyone and fire is no joke. Sometimes I'd leave the van with the lights on so I'd have the lights on when I got back. Looking back now, I shudder to think of it.
