Different levers fit different versions of Wellworth model with 4512 tank

I had to install two different swing arm options to find the one that would work best with my Kohler Wellworth model with 4512 tank and left conditioner fits. They differ in the angle of inclination of the hand. The one that fits the model I bought about 29 years ago is: GP30324-CP (CP stands for grip finish, here polished chrome. Other finishes are significantly more expensive). The built-in lever is shown in the first figure. Note that this listing doesn't say this applies to Wellworth, it does say it applies to Cimarron. Finding a lever for a Wellworth with a 4512 tank and a handle on the left returns 1069723-CP as shown in the second picture. This hand is very close to the tank wall and sometimes rubs it. The lever tends to pull the chain forward, which can cause the choke to move so much that it doesn't always seat properly. The difference is in the angle of the hand from the straight line. 1069723-CP has a smaller angle of around 40 degrees, while GP30324 has an angle closer to 60 degrees. This pulls the chain more vertically. The third picture shows a comparison with 1069723-CP held above the built-in: GP30324-CP. Both levers are marked as genuine Kohler products. Before purchasing a replacement, compare your existing lever to the images shown and decide which is right for you. When in doubt call Kohler, they were very helpful as they know the issue of multiple cuffs for supposedly the same model of toilet. The problem is likely a number of changes to the internal flushing mechanism over the years.
