Before ordering these filters I was at a large store nearby preparing to buy a Samsung filter. When I saw the price of $49.99 I went home and looked for something cheaper. Considering I bought 3 of these for less than an original filter, this is a good deal. When you consider that this filter looks and behaves exactly like this expensive filter, it's a great deal. Of course, this filter looks exactly like the original except for the label and it fits in my fridge with no leaks. It even comes with a set of month markers you can stick on the filter to remind you when to change it. I can't tell any difference in water flow or noise when comparing this filter to the original. I would buy this filter again without hesitation, especially considering what's in the fridge filter. I've cut them open before, and this $50 big box filter is nothing more than a cylinder of black carbon in a plastic case. By the way, my Samsung fridge and most models don't require you to turn off the water to replace it. . There is a seal that closes when the filter comes out to stop the water flow. Some water may escape upon removal, but it usually comes from the filter itself.
