The electric pump will get hot, so use caution as this may result in injury.

I bought this to blow up the children's bouncy castle. I tried driving electric but it was getting hotter and I had to stop from time to time. I then proceeded to use a portable hand pump. It was more work, but it certainly didn't get hot. Electric is a good idea, but it depends on what you're using to blow it up. I would suggest this would not be good for a mattress.
