Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Insulated Drum Heater - WarmGuard WG55 by Rich Ferguson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Manufactured with quality. Best in Drum & Pail Handling Equipment

WarmGuard WG55 Drum Tape is a good option for southern climates that do not experience severe frosts but do experience occasional freezing temperatures. I think the WG55 has fewer uses than the WG55F. WarmGuard WG55F Insulated Full Coverage Drum Blanket - Drum Heating Fixed Internal Thermostat Max Temp 145 FI costs an additional $120 to get full coverage, full insulation, and more even product heating. You can pair any of these heaters with a thermostat temperature controller for more accurate temperatures below 145F. If you have one, two or three drums to keep your jobs warm I think it makes sense. This allows you to extend the working season for days when the morning is too cold to apply but the afternoon temperature is good. This allows you to work in late autumn and spring. Also, they're great for those unexpected gusts of cold we get from time to time. If you have more than 3 heating barrels and have space I would consider building an air conditioned intermediate storage facility. You could build economically, and then you could use a few of these to heat a room. Or you could take at least a few of these and cover the grouped and stacked barrels with insulating blankets. The insulation factor of these blankets is their weakest link. Better insulation can save you a lot of energy and money. If you only have a few barrels, this makes sense and is very convenient. Of course, you can additionally insulate them to improve efficiency. They're constructed fairly well, feel very durable, and warm up well and evenly. They are expensive but you get what you pay for as they are of good quality.
