Anyone who has a cat knows how harmful cat urine is and how important it is to protect floors and walls. We have six cats and four of them are males. They are all neutered and live indoors all the time, although they are still dominant like their wild counterparts. It doesn't make sense since our smallest female tells all the kittens that SHE is in charge, but male cats still do things like compete in literal urination. Some days that's not a problem, but other days it seems like they're aiming for a new distance record. We've tried boxes with high sides like top entries and covered boxes, but our two older cats refuse to pee in these boxes because they don't want the younger ones to jump on them when they exit the boxes. . They don't see anyone leaving, so they walk along the platforms in front of the boxes. In front of these plastic walls, we used makeshift cardboard "walls" to which we attached pee pads to protect everything. It works but looks very wobbly. And replacing a dirty pillow frequently is expensive. With these clear panels, our older cats won't feel trapped or nervous if they're mugged. In the few days that these panels were raised, the number of accident-free accidents on the protective pads around the boxes fell significantly. Hopefully in the coming days when older cats realize they can see small rodent attacks. These plastic boards are a great help for little jumpers who would like to see how high and how far they can get. Unlike urine pads, they can squirt, which could surprise your cat. Or step on your cat (yeah, fu) Since your cats will be using the crates after installing these panels, you can be there to see how trips to the bathroom might be going and if you can give your cat a quick wipe now and then have to give with a baby wipe. Where you attach the Velcro, clean and dry thoroughly. The most obvious issue is that these are three separate panels, which means you have to think about placement before attaching it to the box so there are no gaps between the panels. Depending on where you have your litter box, you may not want to remove a protective coating on your walls or floor, as cat pee odor is absolutely impossible to remove from drywall, hardwood floors, or carpet. Our male cats tend to aim straight and perfectly centered on one side of the tray, so this hasn't been a problem yet. I've considered using some sort of clear tape, clear silicone tubing, or clear silicone caulk to secure and permanently seal these gaps, although I have to first consider how this might affect the ability to remove and reattach the panels without damaging the tape/sealant or panels. If you have a really large tray, you may need to purchase two packs of these slabs to ensure adequate coverage. Although the listing says they are very flexible, you may run into problems when trying to fit/fit a round window. It helps if you use strong clips to hold the panels in place while the adhesive on the Velcro strips cures for several hours, or you may need to keep using the clips to prevent accidental loosening or removal of the panels, when your cat walks in. jumping or jumping on it (which will happen if your cats are as boisterous as mine - and that's another reason I didn't use tape or sealant to permanently seal the gaps). You can always stick them to the wall(s) next to the box for extra protection and they look better than a tissue paper. Cleaning the panels is as easy as cleaning any other plastic surface. Wipe it down with a litter box cleaning pad, bleach-free or ammonia-free cleaning wipes or spray, or even just water and paper towels. A harsh or abrasive cleaner can cloud the plastic, which can rob it of the safer, open feel that clear plastic provides if your cat ever wrestles with another cat after leaving the litter box. Plastic can absorb odors over time, so clean it up immediately if you see anything on it. These panels are very useful, not a bad deal for the price, and a fairly easy way to upgrade your current tablet. The inclusion of some clear tape to secure the corners of the panels might be a good idea for future modifications to this product. Much better for our two older cats who are so afraid of toilet attacks that they pee outside of crates.
