Review on ๐Ÿ“ฑ Logitech Harmony 1100 Universal Remote: Color Touch Screen, Discontinued by Manufacturer by Sonya Murphy

Logitech is out of production. Software stinks and different from all other Logitech remotes

Crazy to write a review like this after writing a glowing review of another Logitech universal remote (Harmony 650). First, this thing is insanely expensive. However, after seeing that everything worked so well with our previous Logitech remote (older Harmony 600.7 years old and still working), I thought I was ready to update our newer system. It was 2013 and I learned some hard facts that I didn't want to accept. First, the number of devices that can be stored is fewer than Logitech's cheaper universal remotes. I HAD to send the damn thing back immediately, but I was lazy. The feel of the product is also not the best. The sound effects for each key press are a clumsy sound. So far I haven't found a way to mute the sound or change the sound. But the worst, which also says a lot, is that Logitech has discontinued the product. The Harmony app doesn't even list it as an option! I recently unboxed this thing and almost gave up looking for supporting software until I found it on Logitech's support page. Now, in 2018, it's working again. My most expensive remote is in my office and only works with 3 devices because it doesn't work with my other systems.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
