I lived with this iron when I bought it in April. Weight, waterline clearly visible, excellent ironing of all the fabrics I ironed, I loved it! 5 months of ironing pleasure. I followed all the instructions, used the scheduled self-cleaning feature suggested in the manual, kept it upright and drained all the water. Never accidentally dropped or knocked over. After ironing my husband's work clothes on a Thursday night with no problems, I set it to iron a few items on a Friday afternoon and not a dime. The lightbulb was on, I checked all the switches, checked the plug again, everything seems fine, but it doesn't get hot! I'm very disappointed, even a little upset that it didn't even last 6 months! This was my third Sunbeam steam iron in 30 years but I think it will be my last.
