While other aftermarket lock cylinders are cheaper, they all come with universal keys with "For GM Vehicles" written on the key. This OEM lock cylinder (ACDelco is after all a General Motors aftermarket supplier) comes with keys that just say 'GM' on them and are identical in appearance to the original keys that came with my 1986 GMC s15 Jimmy . The fit and finish of this lock is perfect and it brought back the "Your key is still in the ignition" signaling feature, a feature that disappeared with the old cylinder. Another plus is that my key can no longer be removed from the lock while driving, which is definitely a good thing! Of course, installing this cylinder requires two special tools (a steering wheel puller and a lock plate compressor, which can be rented from any major auto parts store) and a little mechanical skill. Not for beginners or the faint of heart, but easy for any DIY enthusiast.
