The Terra-Master TD-2 has solved a problem, but it needs to be set up at the factory

The Terra-Master TD-2 is reliable with some problems. It's well built, quiet (except for HD spinning), and solved my "wrong eject" issue from another dock. However, when I got it, I couldn't get it to recognize any of the drives I tested. It came with multiple ports, cables, settings, and 4 different drives. After this frustrating start and an email to Terra Master Support, they responded the next day with the following suggestion: Step 1: Leave the device connected to the computer, powered on and without a hard drive (no hard drives installed); Make sure the pointer on the back of the device is in single mode, then press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds. Step 3: The hard drive lights will turn off, leave the device powered on and install the hard drives; Step 4: After that, the hard drives should show up in Windows Disk Management or Mac Disk Utility. Please initialize and format the drives for use. I did everything but reformatted the drives and the drives showed up in my finder as they should. I then ran speed tests using the Blackmagic Disk Speed Test and found that the read and write speeds are similar to my other dock: around 500MB/s and 140MB/s for Samsung EVO 1TB SSD 8TB and 8TB respectively. Western Digital HD. The only problem I tried to solve with this case was that the drives would eject during a backup of about 2TB with the Mac Pro, resulting in having to transfer in blocks. With this docking station, I was able to back up about 2.5 TB (in about 5 hours) with no extraction errors. There are also no problems even when the computer goes to sleep. Incidentally, all of these results were achieved on a 2019 Mac Pro with older HDDs and SSDs using a docking station in a standalone configuration or without RAID. Haven't tested it for RAID function. Aside from not detecting drives early, I'm happy with the device, but it will reduce customer issues and returns if they do the above process at the factory.
