Not compatible with my WD Red Drive

I've had this unit running for about 6 months now and an alarm goes off every few weeks saying the drive in bay 1 has failed. After inserting a new drive, it takes days to rebuild the RAID and when it does, it won't mount on my Mac. After my 4th "disk failure" in just a few months, I'm ready to shut down this thing. By the way, after the alleged failures, all drives passed the tests very well. EDIT - I've upped my rating a few stars because of the service I received. The company has been…

It works with NTSF formatted drives

This is only day number 2. I'm writing this review in advance just to let anyone interested know that I'm using a 2-bay D2 device as a RAID 1 on a MAC with recently purchased 16 TB. The Iron Wolf reigns. I managed to format the drives to NTSF file system as planned and everything works fine. I will update this in the future no matter if I have any problems. I contacted TerraMaster with a question. You are in the Asian time zone, so it took me a few days to get my reply. framework. I've tested…

This thing is amazing!: Computers and accessories

Not only does this enclosure look great, it's the fastest RAID 5 solution you can get for the money. After much trial and error, I installed it on my iMac Pro with five 8TB WD Red drives. RAID-5 has 32TB and can handle a single drive failure. If you want to make the most of it, the configuration is very complex. I chose an encrypted 2TB Time Machine partition running Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Then a 30TB APFS partition with several dynamic volumes, some of which are encrypted. According to…

Cons
  • There are some downsides

The Terra-Master TD-2 is reliable with some problems. It's well built, quiet (except for HD spinning), and solved my "wrong eject" issue from another dock. However, when I got it, I couldn't get it to recognize any of the drives I tested. It came with multiple ports, cables, settings, and 4 different drives. After this frustrating start and an email to Terra Master Support, they responded the next day with the following suggestion: Step 1: Leave the device connected to the computer, powered on…

Excellent device - Terra-Master makes reliable products!

This is my second Terra Master unit (I also have a 5-bay D5-300 unit). Before I found Terra-Master, I looked at several other well-known manufacturers. I've had no problems with Terra-Master (while I've had some with most other manufacturers) and have received excellent support when needed. new macbook pro. The package arrived in excellent condition, I found it very securely packed (see pictures). A few features I really like about the physical design of the device: 1.) Grip. When we go on…
