I prefer stainless steel rods

These 18 gauge stainless steel rods work well with my Porter Cable BN200B Brad Nagler. I prefer stainless steel for outdoor use and for indoor use when moisture can get in. I also have Grex 5/8, 3/4, and 1 1/4 stainless steel brackets. I couldn't find any stainless steel brackets at my local major department stores.

Suitable for outdoor use

Stainless steel as described. will not stick to a magnet and is definitely stronger than aluminum. They fit my very old Duofast BB-4440. Used them to attach the plastic screen to the wooden screen frames as the keyway was worn and loose. I will be ordering a few other sizes so they are available for other outside projects.

They work great: Brad nails

Bought these for an Arrow brand stun gun. The pieces are excellent; well made and well packaged. I want the Brad Gun to get good reviews. I'll buy an air gun to see if it gets any better. I had to take them out with a hammer and punch. Most pins crease when you try to drive them in by hand, but these held up pretty well. Would buy again.

Worked great with Porter Cable

They worked great with my Porter Cable type PCC790 nailer. I used them externally. The grip of the pin in the racquet was also good. They are not magnetic as they are made of stainless steel. For me this is normal, but someone else might need something different. I plan to switch to these types of staples when I run out of my internal Porter Cable staples.

Pros
  • Everything great!

Falls apart when assembling nails

Nail bars don't fit well, don't stick well. So when you try to insert the stick into the nailer, it falls apart and ends up with a bunch of loose pins. You can get away with steel nails, but since it's stainless steel, they won't stick to the magnetic strip in the nailer. Really difficult to use. The package I received was full of short beats, there were no full sticks.

Fits snugly on my Senco SLP20

In my original review I stated that this size of Grex Pin does not fit my Senco pistol. I've had this gun for many years but have worked with a set of Senco pins. It turns out that Senco's 1-1/4 inch pins are actually 1-3/16 inches, but their other pin lengths are nominal (1 inch, 1-1/2 inch, etc.). I found that I could mount a rack piece with these real 1-1/4" pins. The full stance becomes too tight to slide forward easily. Just an odd feature of this gun. Otherwise the Grex pins seem to be of

Poor quality, good for fasteners

Bought 1 1/2 inch stainless steel nails because I was doing a mahogany project on the outside. I first bought a new Hitachi 18 ga nail gun that fits 1 1/2" nails. My old Bostitch was limited to 1 1/4". When I started using stainless steel nails, I noticed that the nailer was cutting the nails severely jammed and bent. At first I thought it was a new Hitachi nailer or the air was misadjusted. I keep adjusting the air and the nailer with no success. The nailer continued to stick after two or…
