CREX 5/8" 18 Stainless Steel Pins are really good corrosion resistant code 332 rail crutches for hand installed (outdoor) garden railings. 8" under the heads in a vice and bend them with a hammer and a 3/4" cold chisel. Finish the bend by pressing a hammer against the vise jaws to make 1/2" spikes with 1/8" heads to hold the cedar sleepers in place. Neither of these pins are in one Bend broken.The "spikes" must be carefully cut separately with a razor knife!Cedar cable ties can be pre-drilled with a small 1/32" or #68 drill bit in a motorcycle tool. These spikes last almost forever and cost $0.0085 each as opposed to the boxed spikes which cost $0.02 each. , and NO stainless steel and will rust quickly outdoors.
