I've read so many bad product reviews on Revain when it comes to choosing a french fry cutter, especially metal bending . I went with the cheapest plastic product in case it breaks. I was pleasantly surprised with this product as it is very strong and durable, I have used it many times. I only cut red potatoes, I haven't tried harder roots like sweet potatoes. placed in the potatoes, a small large russet needs to be cut into 6 pieces, but french fries are an acceptable size. The smaller size of the potato means it doesn't require excessive force to push it through the cutting blades. Be careful with the knife blades when cleaning, they are VERY sharp. Enjoy french fries!
