Damn, the indicator light is so bright! It was so strong I now just put 5 layers of thin masking tape on top of it to reduce it to something that doesn't blind me but is still visible. I can't comment on how this device handles surges and I hope I never find myself needing to, but let's look at other aspects of this surge protector. The fact that this surge protector is actually an extension of a typical two-outlet outlet with a couple of USB ports is nice overall. The two USB ports free you from having to connect other devices instead of the stupid phone chargers that sometimes compete with my network gear. The 6 sockets have rotating covers to prevent accidents, but they are very easy to rotate and therefore not childproof. The profile thickness of the wall surge protector is quite acceptable for its performance.
