The "problem" with the product is probably related to my understanding of how it should be installed. I was under the impression that this would be a 'stand alone' product that can be used to seal my garage door. I was wrong. It doesn't fit properly on the door without molding the top. When it's close enough to seal, it slides over the edge of the door as it closes. If it is arranged further, it does not compact. I now understand that a molding placed over the gasket will hold it in the correct position for a proper seal. I decided to buy a molding with a rubber grommet already attached for a cleaner and easier installation. I have not used this seal which I cannot return after installation. My mistake, but one should be aware of it to avoid a similar mistake.
