This is a product I never knew I needed. I was trying to make my personal care products more natural, and washing my hair was a major hurdle. Baking soda cleans well, but after a few months my hair was dry and crusty. The vinegar rinses helped somewhat, but the whole deal didn't seem sustainable. Homemade shampoos with castilian soap base were terrible, Amazonian clay left weird residue and various herbal recipes made my hair feel like it needed a different shampoo. I thought I'd try the soap nuts, even though the preparation seemed tedious. Then I found it! Just add water to make a paste or rinse and you're done. Hair looks and feels clean, soft and shiny. The only downside is that you REALLY have to keep it out of your sight. Bites like. Ok sorry! Otherwise I like it very much. It's also easy to travel with. No dispensing of liquids as you add them as you use them.
