Review on Scotch Precision Scissors 3 Pack 1458 3AMZ by Shantel Griffin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Sharp blades but small, tight finger slots

Excellent for precision cutting in moderate to light conditions. Scotch's Ultra Edge scissors are ground to very sharp edges, allowing them to cut paper or thin card very cleanly and straight. I've used them on coated photo paper up to 300 g/m2 (approx. 0.28 mm or 0.011 inch) thick. Scotch scissor blades are 2.1 mm (0.083 in) thick and fairly stiff so they won't bend or move apart when cutting photo paper or colored paper. My similar Fiskars scissors (USA) have blades that are 2.34mm (0.092 inch) thick, so they are even harder and stronger. Of course, Fiskars scissors cost more than three times as much as Scotch scissors. I would give them a full 5 stars except for one issue: the large finger slot on the bottom blade is tight and a bit uncomfortable for my height. medium sized fingers. I can put (3) fingers through the handle slot, but it's tight. Using (2) fingers doesn't give me the control I need. I have medium (medium) sized male hands/fingers so they probably aren't suitable for people with large hands. My old Fiskars fit (4) fingers easily and are not tight at all. Otherwise it's a good buy if you have medium to large hands (men) or a good buy if your hands are smaller. The thumb hole on the top blade fits my thumb well, but can be tight or even impossible for large hands.
