Solid tool for simplifying a routine job

I confess, I have not used it yet. But I've played with it enough to know it's a winner. We got a Waverunner in the spring and I learned that the oil must be extracted from above. I've always been a crawl under the car and pull the drain plug guy. We had one of those common, cheap hand pumps lying around, and I used it for the boats first oil change. Which was a pretty miserable experience involving four hands, an open bucket of used oil, and a big mess. This tool is loaded with features that…

Pros
  • Good product. Did an excellent job
Cons
  • Can be difficult to clean and maintain

This thing has been awesome. When I first bought this it was to work on the transmission of my 2007 Ford Fusion AWD. Those cars have a sealed transmissions. So you can't drop a pan. You have a drain and fill plug and that's it. Also this transmission has a dipstick. I did a test and first I drained as much as the transmission fluid as I could with the drain plug method. Then I filled it up with new fluid, drove the car for a few days to mix it up, then stuck the dipstick hose from this…

Pros
  • Thank you
Cons
  • Requires significant physical effort to operate effectively

We did our own power steering flush!

Would be nice to be able to take it apart more to clean it. ? I wonder if power steering fluid will rot the parts? Pretty hard to know if it is clean and hard to know how to clean & store. We (so far as we know) did a power steering flush. Our fluid was very stinky and dark. AND LOW,used 1 qt and part of another to run through as shown in some youtube videos. (without running the car and hearing the awful noise it was making) We jacked it up so we could turn the wheel back and forth to clear the

Pros
  • Doesn't suck out all the oil but doesn't leave that much behind either.
Cons
  • Has a relatively small fluid capacity, which may limit its usefulness in certain contexts

Saves the day on Differentials.

My F150 doesn’t have drain plugs on the diff covers. So it’s this or pulling the covers for a diff fluid service. The only trick was getting the small suction hose fished down past the front ring gear on my truck. What a pain! This is one of those tools I needed an excuse to buy. Love it.

Pros
  • FOR THE DIY MECHANICS: This convenient engine oil extractor is perfect for DIY mechanics; Oil vacuum pump extractor comes with a 41" dipstick tube and 17" suction tube; Remove the main suction tube from the oil suction pump for easy recycling
Cons
  • May struggle to reach certain fluid reservoirs or containers

Good tool. It works well.

It works well, but the assembly instructions are weak. It was difficult to figure out exactly how to attach the suction hose. It looked like it could fit either of 2 ways, but no, it only fits one way. I had to try it both ways to figure that out. It just friction fits (with an O ring seal), but looked like a screw-thingy might hold it. The screw-thingy hold a cap when not using the unit, but it separates into two parts, implying it does more than simply be a cap. I'm guessing the screw-thingy…

Pros
  • Safe: The manual pump design eliminates the need for electricity or other power sources, making this fluid extractor a safer option when working under the hood
Cons
  • May not offer sufficient suction for certain types of fluid extraction, such as coolant or transmission fluid

You're probably about 90% committed to converting to doing oil changes by the dipstick method, but not sure which one of these extractors to buy and really wondering if this is a reliable method to do it. I looked at the various other extractors sold by HF as well as the MityVac model, and realized that they're all about the same and ultimately I chose this one mainly because of the large capacity (engine holds 9 liters) and the easy Walmart return policy. And go ahead and convert to the…

Pros
  • Works well for changing oil in my car.
Cons
  • May require frequent maintenance to remain functional

Game changer on my review.

So I got those because my jaguar required it due to lack of oil drain plug bit now any car I own that has a dip stick will get oil changed with this simplist quickest oil change ever

Pros
  • Fluid Evacuators
Cons
  • Can become hot and uncomfortable to handle during extended use

Easy oil change!: my feedback

Changed oil on 90 hp Mercury 4 stroke outboard.easy from back of boat. Did not have to drive boat to ramp and pullout on trailer and drive home to change it in driveway. usually 4 hours.now 30 easy minutes with new oil and filter.Should have bought this years ago for Jet Ski oil changes too.Very Satisfied.!

Pros
  • ‎9 x 9 x 28.25 inches
Cons
  • May not be compatible with certain types of fluid, such as synthetic oils or brake fluids

I was working on my 2012 Honda Civic Si, and I called my wife to show it off. I started telling her, "Look! It’s neat! And I don’t have to go underneath the car ever again!”I almost got away with feeling proud but then she replies… "Wait… Don’t you still need to go underneath to replace the oil filter?” That pride faded immediately…On vehicles that the filter is on top of the engine, it would definitely make it count! And overall it’s a great product but kinda pointless for cars who have the…

Pros
  • Easy to Use
Cons
  • May require additional cleaning solutions or chemicals to remove certain fluids or contaminants

Wow, what an awesome tool

So useful. Used it to change the brake fluid on my vehicle today. I needed to fashion a small hose section to hook up the smaller hose to the bleeder valve. A small piece of tubing slipped perfectly over the bleeder and the small hose that came with the tool. After that crack the bleeder, a couple of pumps, and sit back and watch the show. Top off the fluid, rinse and repeat per wheel. So easy compared to those hand pump tools. After that I changed my power steering fluid. Crack loose the return

Pros
  • EASY TO USE: The vacuum pump oil extractor comes with an oversize handle for easy pumping; A flexible 5ft long 1/4 inch diameter main suction hose allows you to reach most dipsticks; An overflow shutoff valve prevents overfills in the 2.5 gallon reservoir
Cons
  • Does not include any storage or carrying case for transportation or storage

Manual sucks, get the one with the adapter

Almost threw out my back pumping away at the smallest size one. I should’ve bought the one with the air compressor adapter.

Pros
  • Replaced transmission fluid on my boat, great suction power and flexibility
Cons
  • Prone to leaks and spills during use

Use this ALOT best in my review

I got this to do the transmission service on a 700R4 and worked great! now I use it all the time , Never knew how handy this would be , Good tool to have , this one is good quality and does the job

Pros
  • The OEMTOOLS 24397 Manual Fluid Extractor Pump can be used for both oil and transmission fluids, making it a great multipurpose tool
Cons
  • May have limited availability in certain regions or markets

Great tool I wish I bought years ago.

I mainly bought this to change my transmission fluid. It works great, and it is consistent every time. I marked the container on the outside so I could measure how much fluid was sucked out. It was cleab and draining it made no mess.

Pros
  • ‎OEMTOOLS 24397
Cons
  • May be more expensive than other fluid extraction options on the market

EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS

I purchased this to remove transmission fluid from a ZF Hurth marine transmission, which is not a fun job in a very tight working space. Setup was fast and simple. What amazed me is how much suction this device could produce and maintain for several minutes without the need to continuously pump the handle. It was efficient, and there was absolutely zero mess. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a vaccum pump assembly to remove oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid,

Pros
  • ‎24397
Cons
  • Can take a long time to extract fluids, especially if the fluid is cold or thick

No more messy oil changes!

Easy to use no more having to worry about the cleanup later. Used it for power steering fluid and engine I’ll change. Makes things so much convenient. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Compact: Measuring just 23 inches tall and 7 inches wide, this fluid extractor won't take up much space in your garage or workshop
Cons
  • May be prone to rust or corrosion over time, especially if not properly cleaned and maintained

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works great. Difficult to clean and not 8 Liters as claimed.

The suction cup and accessories work great. However, it doesn't come with any measuring markings. So I had to use water and a measuring cup to make my own with a marker. I discovered that this 8L container does not fit 8 Liters. It fits just a little over 7 Liters. This is also very difficult to clean as the top does not come off. The suction and accessories work great otherwise.

Pros
  • EASY FLUID DRAIN: This oil pump for oil change is more than just an oil extractor pump; Remove oils and fluids on cars, light trucks, small engines, and boats; Use as a manual oil extractor, gear oil pump, transmission fluid removal pump, boat oil change extractor pump, and more
Cons
  • May require significant clean-up after use, due to spills or leaks

Perfect for my Touareg TDI

I have a diesel vw Touareg that is a pain to change the oil due to a cross member being right below the drain plug. An oil change was going to be $150 for eight quarts of synthetic oil. I can buy 10 quarts for $55 at the local auto parts store. Easy to remove the oil without the mess. It is large enough to hold all of the oil without spilling. Not sure of durability but it seems well made.

Pros
  • Not sure
Cons
  • Has a relatively short pump handle, which may be uncomfortable or difficult to grip for some users

Works great for sucking out oil from a jet ski motor

I bought this to remove the oil from the engines in my Yamaha boat. It works great for this task.My one complaint it that it does not hold 8 quarts. It should hold 8.45 quarts according to the description but it overflows before 8. Once a person knows that, the mess can be avoided. I' just glad I had towels all around and under it the first time I used it.

Pros
  • VEHICLE OIL REMOVAL PUMP: Hand vacuum pump evacuates fluids directly from dipstick tubes; At 9.5 liters of capacity, this manual oil extractor pump for boats can be used as an oil change pump extractor and fluid transfer pump on most vehicles
Cons
  • May be prone to airlocks or bubbles in certain fluids, which can affect extraction efficiency

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easiest oil change ever

If you don't have an extractor. get one! Never get under your vehicle to change the oil again! Quick, easy and clean. This extractor performs exactly as advertised. The materials it's made from seem durable. I've only had it a short time and used it once, but it feels like it will last. The small diameter hose is stiff, which makes it a little annoying to store, but that is understandable. The connections seem sketchy but they use gaskets and hold just fine. To empty the reservoir you dump it out

Pros
  • ‎OEMTOOLS
Cons
  • Offers limited control over the speed and volume of fluid extraction

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great tool for my opinion

The suction power of this is great. It is easy to use and empty. The hoses are long enough to suck a few quarts of transmission fluid out of a full size GMC truck or even my man van which is a Buick terazzaYou can pull the plug when you want to stop the suction. This allows it to suck air instead of the fluid you want to removeI would totally recommend this extractor to anyone looking for a fluid extractorWish I would have bought sooner.

Pros
  • ‎7.95 pounds
Cons
  • Does not include any warranty or guarantee for customer satisfaction or product longevity
