This thing has been awesome. When I first bought this it was to work on the transmission of my 2007 Ford Fusion AWD. Those cars have a sealed transmissions. So you can't drop a pan. You have a drain and fill plug and that's it. Also this transmission has a dipstick. I did a test and first I drained as much as the transmission fluid as I could with the drain plug method. Then I filled it up with new fluid, drove the car for a few days to mix it up, then stuck the dipstick hose from this extractor into the dipstick line and I actually pulled out half a quart more sucking it out with the extractor than pulling the plug under the car and letting it drain. So on sealed transmissions with a dipstick this thing is a god send. I didn't need to jack the car or anything, just take the dipstick out, put the extractor hose in and suck as much as I could, then refill up the same amount I extracted through the dipstick line using a small funnel.I most recently used this on my wife's 2005 Lexus RX330 flushing the power steering system. Again this worked great. I ended up sucking as much fluid out of the reservoir as I could. I took off the return hose line from the reservoir, put the extractor hose into the return hose and attached them with a hose clamp. I pumped the extractor and sucked out all the fluid as I refilled the reservoir with new fluid until the extractor hose showed bright red fluid coming through it. Much better than the turkey baster suck and refill method in my opinion.Most power steering systems are around 1 quart to fill, but if you want to flush the whole system, just get 2 quarts to be safe. That way you'll have a little left over anyway if you ever have to top off the fluid later down the line.
