Less than half the retail price of shift knobs, this thing worked perfectly if you followed these steps: STEPS: 1. Remove the old shift knob, feel the threads and size of the shifter. (that's what she said).2. Take some cloth and clamp the ball in the workbench vise, it will CRACK if you don't use a cloth to protect it from the vise's hard teeth.2. Center hit exactly in the middle of "8". Not too hard, just press and the glass will crack.3. Have someone hold a vacuum hose near where you're drilling to pick up any debris and get rid of the burnt plastic smell. Start with a tiny drill and slowly work that first drill through; Get that first hole level/straight.5. Slowly increase the size of the drill as the hole gets bigger.6. VERY IMPORTANT; Once you've decided you're getting close to the rod's size (moving a car), test it and see if it 'twists', if not go back and drill a little more. Keep going until it spins, it SHOOTS, believe me the inside of this ball is made of softer plastic than the outside.8. If you drilled a big hole, take teflon tube and wrap it around a stick, it will fill the gap, it may take a few tries but it will work. FOR 1. Arrived on time, thanks!2. Perfect condition, no scratches etc, looked perfect even though there were no fingerprints from a Chinese factory worker. The white part is "whiter" than the picture shows, I was a little hesitant, thinking it looks a bit yellow in the picture, but everything is fine. CONS: 1. When you first drill it, the "glass cover will break", but that's to be expected, don't worry. 2. Doesn't smell like yummy bacon, the smell of bacon is damn good. World!
