Update: Used expandable and love it! Stretches very easily, also in both the extended and regular sizes I don't see any excess fabric that my child could choke on in an accident like other posts. And my son rolls a ton. The mattress velcro straps sit pretty well on the sticks and they have extra velcro straps on each corner to tuck under your backpack and play with for extra security. I added some pictures. So far, so good! Was skeptical based on the reviews, I don't usually buy when the reviews are below 4 stars but I really needed something that would last a while. My baby is 6 months old and sleeps with us on a large floor mattress but because he rolls around it's hard to leave him on the bed without us doing everything on both sides. It's perfect as long as it was well packaged and easy to assemble. I didn't extend more but the mattress looks comfortable and quite large. Will update as I use it.
